GETTING STARTED

Your First Hour on fomo

Signup takes about a minute, no crypto experience required. One habit after it decides how much you pay in fees. Work through how to trade on fomo before you fund anything.

Signing Up Is Login-Based, Not a Seed Phrase

fomo signs you in with an email address or a social login -- Apple or Google. There's no separate registration form and nothing to write down before you start. When your account is created, fomo generates a non-custodial wallet for you automatically, secured through your login rather than a twelve-word phrase. Per fomo's help center, the private key is split into shares that no single party, including fomo, holds enough of to reconstruct alone -- unless and until you choose to export it. The full custody model is in Is fomo Safe?.

The $0.95 Minimum Is the Thing to Know Before You Fund Anything

This is the single most important fact on the page. On Solana, any order under 200 USDC carries a flat $0.95 minimum fee, regardless of how small the trade is. A $10 test buy costs $0.95 -- 9.5% -- which is nearly 20 times the advertised 0.50% headline rate. This isn't a bug or a hidden charge; it's stated in fomo's own help center. It just doesn't show up until you actually run a small trade and check the fee line. See fomo Fees Explained for the full schedule and every scenario worked out.

Funding With Apple Pay or a Card

fomo's biggest advantage over a traditional exchange is that you can fund your account directly with Apple Pay or a debit card, without opening a separate account or waiting for a bank transfer first. You can also transfer in crypto you already hold. fomo covers gas, priority fees and Solana token rent on Solana, Base, BNB Chain and Monad deposits -- Ethereum is the exception, where network gas applies on top. Exporting Your Key: Protected Until You Move It

fomo's wallet is non-custodial while your funds stay in the app. If you ever want to move funds to a different wallet, you can export the private key -- but fomo's own Terms of Service state that key is then “transmitted to you unencrypted by Privy,” the third-party wallet provider, and that fomo is “not responsible for the security or safety of your digital assets” from that point. Both things are true: genuinely protected at rest, entirely your responsibility once exported. Full detail in deposits and withdrawals.

What to Read Next

Once your first trade has settled, the useful next stop is the trading hub, which covers the social feed and how fomo's perps actually route through Hyperliquid. If you want to understand the bill before you scale up, the fees hub breaks down exactly what a trade costs by size. And if you're still deciding whether to use fomo at all, fomo vs Moonshot is honest about where each one loses.
