What fomo Actually Charges

A 0.50% headline, and a $0.95 minimum fee that nobody puts in the marketing copy.

The Real Fee Schedule

Sourced directly from help.fomo.family: Base, BNB Chain and Monad charge 0.50%. Ethereum charges 0.50% plus network gas. Solana charges 0.50% for orders 200 USDC or more, but a flat $0.95 minimum fee below that. Select major tokens are charged 0.05% instead. fomo covers gas, priority fees and Solana token rent on Solana, Base, BNB Chain and Monad -- so the fee above is close to the whole cost, except on Ethereum.

Two Documents That Disagree

fomo's Terms of Service state, without qualification: “We charge a minimum fee of 0.50% per transaction (subject to a minimum fee of $0.95 per transaction).” Read literally, that applies to every transaction, on every chain. But fomo's help center, the more detailed and specific document, scopes the $0.95 minimum specifically to Solana orders under 200 USDC -- and states different numbers entirely for Base, BNB Chain, Monad and Ethereum. We quote both because the disagreement is real, not because we're hedging.

What fomo's Own Volume Implies

DefiLlama, an independent data tracker, shows fomo's spot trading collected $8,693,076 in fees over 30 days on $547,753,905 of Solana volume -- a realized rate of 1.587%, more than three times the 0.50% headline. Working backward, that's consistent with an average trade size of roughly $59.86, right in the range where the $0.95 minimum bites hard. The minimum isn't a rare edge case -- based on fomo's own volume data, it looks like it applies to the typical trade.

Referral Discount: 10% Off, Permanently

fomo's help center states it directly: signing up through a referral link brings your rate from 0.50% down to 0.45%, automatically, on every trade, for as long as you use the account. Unlike accrued cashback that has to be claimed, this is a straightforward rate discount applied at the point of trade.

The catch: it can only be added at signup. There's no way to apply a code to an account that already exists. Full mechanics on the referral code page.

What Perps Cost

fomo's perpetual futures route to Hyperliquid through a builder code, not fomo's own exchange. fomo charges 0.05% per trade on both opening and closing a position -- roughly 0.10% round-trip in fomo's own fee alone -- on top of Hyperliquid's own ~0.045% taker fee. All-in, that's about 0.095% per side, close to double the cost of trading Hyperliquid directly. This is the standard rate across mobile apps that route to Hyperliquid this way -- Phantom charges the identical 0.05%. Full mechanics in how fomo perps actually work.

Worth noticing: fomo's spot fee (0.50%) is ten times its perps fee (0.05%) -- the opposite of what a lot of trading platforms do.

Frequently Asked Questions

0.50% standard, 0.05% on select major tokens. On Solana, orders under 200 USDC carry a flat $0.95 minimum fee instead -- so a $10 trade costs $0.95, or 9.5%, not 0.5%.

fomo's Terms of Service state the minimum without qualification, applying it to every transaction. Its help center, a more detailed document, scopes it specifically to Solana orders under 200 USDC. We quote both rather than pick one.

No volume-tier ladder. The only documented discount is the 10% referral discount, applied permanently at signup and unrelated to trading volume.

0.05% per trade, charged on both opening and closing a position, on top of Hyperliquid's own fee (roughly 0.045% taker). All-in, about 0.095% per side -- roughly double the cost of trading Hyperliquid directly, and the standard rate for apps that route to Hyperliquid this way.

A permanent 10% discount on trading fees, taking the standard rate from 0.50% to 0.45%, applied automatically to every trade. It can only be added during signup and cannot be changed afterward.

On Solana, $0.95 -- a 9.5% effective rate, because the $0.95 minimum fee applies regardless of trade size. At $100, the same $0.95 works out to 0.95%. At $500, the 0.50% rate takes over and the fee is $2.50.

fomo covers gas, priority fees and Solana token rent on Solana, Base, BNB Chain and Monad. Ethereum is the exception: deposits and withdrawals carry real network gas on top of the 0.50% fee.
